Announcement of SIHA Town Hall & Annual General Meeting
The Sydney Indoor Hockey Association Annual General Meeting will be held:
Monday November 23rd, 6-8pm
Alan Border Oval Pavilion, Myahgah Road, Mosman
To all SIHA stakeholders,
We encourage you all to participate in the Town Hall and AGM meeting this year.
The AGM is an important milestone for SIHA as we wish to build a new executive committee for a new era of Indoor Hockey.
The previous committee served for many years in the background, under the long term leadership of former president Alan Wiggins.
Alan resigned the presidency last year owing to poor health, but has remained involved during 2025 and 2026.
Mark Hewitt-Park and the existing committee undertaken responsibility for continuing the SIHA competitions but filling Alan’s large shoes has been a challenge.
The main message from the existing committee is that now is the time for renewal. The vision for the Association and its future is to expand participation of members of our playing community in governance and management roles.
What roles do we need to fill?
- President
- Vice-President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Men’s Convenor
- Women’s Convenor
- Mixed Adult Convenor
- Junior Convenor
- Social Media Manager
- Umpiring Coordinator
- Booking Officer
How long do these roles last?
The role will be until the next AGM, so your duties will cover the 2027 season.
How do I nominate for a position?
Nominations are accepted via our online form:
Nominate for the 2027 Committee
We will also welcome nominations from the floor for a position at the AGM.
You do not need to be an active player to nominate for a position.
The nomination form allows for a short blurb that will circulated to inform our community of your credentials and interests ahead of the AGM.
How does voting work?
Each club, or team is represented by a nominated person, who should register via the Representative Nomination Form:
Register as a club/team/school delegate
Each team entered in our competitions allows one vote. If your club entered 10 teams, you get 10 votes.
Can I be involved but not join the committee?
You can share a role and we welcome any stakeholders who wish to assist but do not want to be a formal committee member
